Personal Notes:

"Tradgedy struck the (race) course in 1908, when George Williams, from "Courtleroi" near Manumbah, (Queensland, Australia,) was killed. Early on the Friday morning before the races, Williams and Bill O'Sullivan were training their horses. Swapping horses, they had a trial race. The horse which Williams was riding, Tom Brown, put its foot in a hole, near the furlong pole and fell with the rider. Williams died instantly, from a broken neck."
