The Courier Mail (Brisbane) 19 Oct 1946 ACQUITTED. — Harold John Carcary, 20, R.A.A.F. driver was found not guilty by a jury of a charge of manslaughter in the Criminal Court yesterday, and was discharged. The charge followed a collision between a truck Carcary was driving and a bicycle on the Ipswich Road on July 18 and the death of Gordon Charles Hamilton, 16. Mr. Max Julius (instructed by Mr. Cyril Murphy) appeared for Carcary. Lola Couvee 9 February 2016 7:51:28 AM AEDT Hi Helen I have found a Harold John Carcary on the Nominal rolls born 25 March 1926 and he appears to have died on 2 March 1982 – records on Brisbane Grave Location – buried at Hemmant Cemetry. Location Lawn/6/221 Also buried at the same location is a Grace Beryl Carcary DOB 9 Jan 1929 died 29 June 2004 – possibly Harold’s wife. But haven’t confirmed that as yet.
