WEDDINGS
MARGETTS— STEARNE
On January 6 the marriage of
June Elaine, second daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. G. E. W. Stearne, of
Egan street, Kalgoorlie, to Ernest
Joseph Margetts, younger son of
Mrs. J. Curtis and the late Mr. F.
Margetts, of Fremantle, was
solemnised at the Wesley Church,
Kalgoorlie, by the Rev. J. C. Lund.
The bride, who entered the church
on the arm of her brother-in-law,
Mr. Stephen Eade, wore a lovely
gown of white self -patterned
cloque cut on classic lines with a
deep peplum and long train. Her
daintily embroidered veil was held
in place by a coronet of white
tuber roses offset by tiny loops of
marquisette, and she carried a
sheaf of white gladioli and carna
tions. The bridesmaid, Miss Gloria
Macdonald, and train-bearer, little
Yvonne Eade (niece of the bride)
were frocked alike in white
shadow lace and tulle, with long
bodices, buttoned down the back,
and deep peplums. Their head
dresses were of tulle arranged
with pastel sprays and each car
ried a sheaf of pink gladioli and
carnations. The bridesmaid wore a
dainty pendant, a gift from the
bridegroom. Mr. Albert Giles, of
Fremantle, carried out the duties
of best man. Appropriate music
was played by Mr. Thomas and
during the signing of the register
Mrs. R. Kelly gave a delightful
rendition of 'O Promise Me.' The
breakfast was held at the R.S.L.
Hall, Kalgoorlie, which was artisti
cally decorated by friends of the
bride. The guests were received by
Mrs. Stearne, wearing a smart
black ensemble with black accesso
ries and a blue shoulder spray.
She was assisted by the bride
groom's mother, charmingly frock
ed in silver grey crepe with navy
accessories. The customary toasts
were honoured and the many con
gratulatory telegrams read, the
three-tiered wedding cake, made
by the bride's mother and beauti
fully decorated by Mrs. Smart,
holding pride of place at the
bridal party's table. At the con
clusion of the breakfast musical
items were delightfully rendered
by Mrs. B. Marshall (vocal) and
Miss G. Macdonald. Music for the
toasts and accompaniments was
supplied by Mrs. Fraser. The
young couple left for their honey
moon by the afternoon's express,
the bride travelling in a frock of
honey coloured silk crepe with
beaded embroidery and brown ac
cessories. Mr. and Mrs. Margetts
are now settled in their home in
Buller street, Kalgoorlie.
