Note 2: Bowen Independent 8 May 1917 DEATH. WOOLLEY.—At the Kennedy Hospital, Bowen, on May 5th, 1917, Joseph Woolley, at the age of 74 years. Bowen Independent 8 May 1917 OBITUARY Mr Joseph Woolley, late of Conway Station, who came from Cheshire, England, passed away in the Kennedy Hospital after a prolonged illness. Deceased recently met with a slight accident which pro bably hastened the end. He leaves a widow, three married daughters and one son to mourn his loss. He was 74 years of age.

The death took place in Brisbane on 1st September of Mrs. Mary Woolley, at the age of 91 years. The late Mrs. Woolley lived in Bowen some years ago, her daughter, Mrs. Peters, being at that time licensee of the Central Hotel. The body was brought to Bow- en for burial, the deceased's late hus- band being laid to rest in the Bowen cemetery. The funeral left the Church of England on Thursday last at 10 a.m., Rev. Prentice performing the last sad rites at the graveside.
