DEATH
RAMSEY.-On the 28th January, at Dobroyde, Ashfield, near Sydney, Sarah, relict of the late Dr. David Ramsey, mother of the late Percy Ramsey, of Dalhousie, Maryborough, and beloved sister of Mr. Simeon Lord, Brisbane, aged 83 years..

Mr. James Allan Ramsay, of Chandos-street, Ashfield, whose remains were cremated at Rookwood yesterday morning, was 67 years of age He was the eldest son of the late Mr. James Ramsay, of Haberfield, and great grandson of Simeon Lord. Educated at Syd-ney Grammar School, he joined the Department of Lands, Sydney, in 1884. He was appointed acting offlcer-ln-charge of the Ministerial branch in 1901, and in 1906 was made offlcer-in-charge. He became ofllcer-in charge of the sales branch in January, 1926, and retired in April, 1931.
He was an enthusiastic oarsman and rowed in New South Wales eights. He was an efficient coach, and took a keen Interest in school and college rowing.
