ROCKHAMPTON, January 6.
St Brigid's Roman Catholic Church,
Longreach, was chosen for the marriage of
Catherine Mary, only daughter of Mr and
Mrs F. Nehmer, Cassowary Street, North
Longreach, and John James, eldest son of
Mr and Mrs J. J. McLaughlin, Poplar
Street, Barcaldine. Rev. Father M. Egan
officiated.
Given away by her father, the bride
a frock of Chantlilly lace made with a drop
waistline, a heart-shaped neckline, and
three-quarter sleeves. The skirt featured
front fullness, flaring to the hemline. Her
fingertip veil was worn with a topknot of
flowers and she carried a prayer book
trimmed with ribbon and flowers.
Mrs D. Meares was matron of honour and
her frock of white organdi was inlet with
broderie Anglaise, the bodice and full puff
sleeves being pintucked. A topknot of pink
flowers was worn, and she carried a bou-
quet of the same flowers. Mr F. Nehmer
(brother of the bride) was best man.
The reception was held at the home of
the bride's parents. The three-tiered wed-
ding cake was made by the bride s mother
and iced by Mrs Brodie. Mrs Nehmer
(mother of the bride) wore black embossed
sheer with a hat to tone. Mrs McLaugh-
lin (the bridegroom's mother) was frocked
in navy sheer with navy accessories.
