The estate of Mr. George Kenneth Clift, grazier, of Scone, who died on April 7, has been sworn for probate at £68,793. He bequeathed his estate for his widow and son, and appointed them and the Perpetual Trustee Co. executors and trustees.

CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLING.
WEST MAITLAND, Monday.
At the West Maitland Police Court to-day, before Mr. C. H. Gale, P.M., William Bootles, a racecourse detective, was charged with em- bezzling £36/4/6, the property or George Ken- neth Clift. According to the evidence, accused's duty was to collect the betting fees from the bookmakers at the Rutherford racecourse. It was alleged that he did not account for the amount set forth in the charge. The total deficiency was stated to be over £208. Accused was committed for trial.
