He married Elizabeth Cosgrove 3 Jul 1869 Rylstone she was b.18 Aug 1849 Hulme Manchester England d. 17 Jul 1872 Rylstone . He married Sarah Jane Howe 16 Apr 1878 Rylstone . She was b. 17 Jan 1848 St. Marys NSW died 3 Mar 1922 Kandos NSW.

James Morrison b.1821 Turriff Scotland d. 1889 Rylstone NSW.

James Morrison was the son of John Morrison & Elizabeth Brebner. The family was from Turriff Scotland. John and Elizabeth left Scotland with their daughter Nancy and James. Their daughter Alexina Payton was born at sea. They arrived in Australia 1823 on the “Andromeda”. James was born 11 Jul 1821 Turriff & died 26 Oct 1889 in Rylstone NSW.

James married Ann Mercy Thompson who was born 27 Feb 1825 Rawdon Yorkshire. They married 25 Jan 1842 Parramatta NSW. Ann was the daughter of Joseph & Hanna Thompson of Rawdon Yorkshire. She arrived in Australia on board the “Lavinia” in 1832 aged 7 years. She came in the company of her uncle John Thompson and his two sons William Barber 11 years and James 9 years. It is believed that his wife died during the voyage. Ann died 8 Aug 1876 Carwell Rylstone NSW. John Thompson apparently considered Ann as a daughter as when he died in his will he has left all his personal estate to his to daughter Ann wife of James Morrison of Davis Swamp. The will was contested by his sons and the Morrisons did not defend it.
