ASSAULT AND WOUNDING CHARGES
ADJOURNED FOR MONTH
NO OBJECTIONS BY POLICE; CASES SET DOWN
FOR FEBRUARY 8
Charges against John Henry Boyd of having unlawfully assaulted Clifford Morton Tainsh and of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Thomas Chambers were yesterday adjourned until February 8 when Boyd will appear at Echuca Court of Petty Sessions.
Boyd appeared before Mr M. J. Marwick, S.M., at the Decem ber sitting of the court and a remand on the maliciously wound ing charge and an adjournment of the 'unlawful assault charge was granted following a submis sion that defendant had had in sufficient time to prepare a defence.
Mr G. J. Donohue, instructed by Mr A. D. Goodman (Shepparton) yesterday, applied for a further adjournment as Boyd's legal adviser was unable to be present. Inspector Donnelly, for the police, indicated that the police had no objection to an adjournment which was then granted by the S.M.
Bail o£ £50 with a like surety on the Charge of maliciously wounding, was allowed.
