OBITUARY (The Cairns Post, 1 Apr 1933)
MR. J. H. GRIMSHAW.
The death of Mr. Joseph Henry Grimshaw, a very old identity of this city, took place last Friday night, at the age of 73 years. Deceased had been a resident of Cairns for over 40 years, and carried on business as a vanman in the early days. The deceased gentleman was employed as a waterside worker for many years, but latterly lived a retired life. His wife predeceased him some years ago. Mr. L. J. Grimshaw (Marckunda Downs, Winton), is a brother. The late Mr. Grimshaw was a regular visitor at the Cairns District Hospital for many years, cheering the sick. The funeral will move from St John's Church at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
