PIECE OF TIMBER

les Henry Hillcoat (married),
of Park-road, Milton, was
killed by a flying piece of tim
ber when using a circular saw
at the Oxley Plywood Com
pany, Sugarmlll-road. Meean
dah, early this afternoon.
Hillcoat was sawing a piece
of timber when an 8ft. length
flew from the machine and
pierced his chest.
He died almost immediately.

GYMPIE HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.
GYMPIE November 29

At the High School's entrance examination, held on November, l8, 92 candidlates sat in Gympie, and 60 in other centres, comprising Kingaroy. Mundubbera, Woodford, Raby, Cooroy. Nambour, Brooloo, and Gayndah, the papers of all those being valued in Gympie. Ninety of the 152 candidates who sat were successful in passing the examination. The results show that the following have passed, qualifying for admission to the High School in January next:- Lorna Hillcoat
