BLECHYNDEN* At St. Clair's Hospital, Bunbury, on Tuesday morning, Mrs Bertha Blechynden, wife of Mr James Blechynden, of Bridgetown, passed away. Canon Adams officiated at the interment of her remains in the Anglican portion of the New Cemetery South Bunbury, on Wednesday afternoon. They were enclosed in a polished jarrah casket. The deceased lady was a daughter of the late Frederick Johnson, of Bunbury, and daughter of Mrs M. I. Johnson, who resides in Eileen Street. Her brothers, Messrs C G, F W.and R G Johnson, are now living in Bunbury, and she had six sisters who are married and living in different parts of the State She was born at Rockhampton, Queensland, 39 years ago, and in 1903 married James Blechynden, who was then residing at 'Springfield", Dinninup, Upper Black wood. For eight years before her marriage Mrs Blechynden was a school teacher at Boyup Brook and Diuninup, respectively. Her husband survives her and her loss is also lamented by five children, Mabel, Ellen, Myra, Hubert, and Charles, the eldest being 15 years of age and the youngest eight. Messrs W Brittain and Son were responsible 'for the funeral arrangements.

Deceased was the oldest Australian native. He was born in Campbelltown, N.S.W.; and came to Victoria with his wife and six children over 70 years ago. He was a member of a family of ten children, all of whom reached advanced ages. Deceased had never lost a tooth, and up to quite recently had transacted his own business. Note 16: mother's death notice The West Australian (Perth) 18 April 1938 FUNERALS. The Late Mrs. C. E. G. Chidgzey. The funeral of the late Mrs. Constance E. G. Chidgzey, the beloved wife of George J. Chidgzey of Bridgetown, Western Australia, and of Paterson and Co., Ltd., took place in the Church of England portion of the Karra- katta Cemetery on Saturday afternoon last, in the presence of a large gathering of friends land relatives. The late Mrs. Chidgzey was born Victoria and had been a resident in this State for over 35 years, most of her life being spent in the South-West, in particular Bridgetown, where she was loved by all who knew her. Her passing came as a great shock to her very many friends. The chief mourners were:—Mr. G. J. Chidg- zey (husband), Douglas, Vernon and Robert (sons), W. Elphick (nephew), T. C. Moss (son-in-law) and V. Chidgzey (brother-in-law).
