I have just discovered your information on Edward Whittington Allport. I am descended from Margaret Jane Whittington, born Clemens Street, Liverpool on 17 Nov 1803. She was my 3 X great-grandmother and the older sister of Elizabeth Whittington, born 23 May 1806 in Hill Street, Liverpool, and baptised 15 June 1806 at St. Nicholas. Both were the daughters of Edward Whittington, a joiner, and his wife Elizabeth Elton who were married on 19 Dec 1802 in St. Nicholas, Liverpool.

Edward died on 22 Dec 1839 at 9 Mill Street East, Islington, Liverpool from "inflamation" at the age of 60. I have not yet been able to find out when Elizabeth died.

I have a putative ancestry for Edward Whittington going back to about 1680, but I would like to find more proof before I share it with other people.

I think Elizabeth Elton was the daughter of John Elton, a cooper, who married Elizabeth Cleator at Liverpool St. Anne's on 13 March 1776. Elizabeth Elton appears to have been baptised on 26 Jan 1777 at St. Nicholas (born on 4 Jan 1777). I haven't yet been able the Elton or Cleator lines any further back.
