OBITUARY.
MRS. M. E. WOODS.
It is with great regret that we have
to record the death of Mrs. Mary
Ellen Woods, wife of Mr. Thomas John
Woods, of Kinnimo, Garah, which took
place at 'Wooton' Hospital, Sydney,
at 3 o'clock this (Thursday) morning.
The deceased, who was the daughter
of Mr. W. M. Kennedy, of Double
Bay, Sydney, and formerly of Moree,
was about 50 years of age, and had
spent practically the whole of her life
in the Moree district. Of a kindly dis-
position, the late Mrs. Woods took a
keen interest in the Country Women's
Association, and especially in matters
affecting the welfare of Garah. Even
as late as November last she took a
prominent part in the carnival held at
that centre in aid of the Garah Hall.
About six weeks ago she became ill
and went to Sydney for treatment, but
despite the best of medical and nurs-
ing skill, she passed away as stated
above. Besides a husband, she leaves
two sons (Messrs. Kenneth and Allan)
and three daughters (the Misses Nellie,
Ray and Eva) to mourn their loss.
The body will be brought to Moree
by train on Saturday morning
and placed in All Saints' Church, from
where the funeral will move at
1 p.m.
