WRIGHT Mr. Clarence Henry Wright, who passed away at the Peak Hill District Hospital, was born on December 1, 1879, at Moama, Victoria. His boyhood days he spent mostly on the land at Hillston. He then went to Hay and en- listed for the Boer War, where he saw active service. On his return he went to New Zealand for a few years, and was married in 1929 to Annie McIlroy, who died 20 years ago. There is one son to mourn his loss, James, who is well known in Peak Hill. Mr. Wright was for 30 years manager of a very large freez- ing works at Albury until a fortnight ago, when he was taken ill. He had one sister, Mrs. E. Hubbard, who resides in Peak Hill. He was not very well known in Peak Hill, but those who had come in contact with him spoke highly of his gener- ous and cheerful nature. The service at the Methodist Church was conducted by the Rev. E. L. Towner. As a mark of respect and comradeship, ex- servicemen attended the service at the church and graveside, RSL president D. Boyd, carry- ing out the burial ritual.
