McNAE— MADILL.
A very pretty wedding was cele-
brated on Thursday, September 27th.,
at the United Church, Mareeba, by
the Rev. Mackle. when Olive May,
only daughter of Mr. J. K. Madlll,
Mareeba, was joined in holy wedlock
lo James Robert, eldest son of Mr.
and Mrs. J. McNae. of West Bunda-
berg.
Miss Beryl McNae, sis-
ter of the bridegroom attended as
bridesmaid with little Pat and Dell
Croker as flower girls.
Mr. and Mrs.
McNae's future home will be Mareeba.

The funeral, of the late John Kaven Madill, beloved father of Mrs. J. McNae, of 25 Hucker St., beloved brother of Wallace Madill, of Mackay, Mrs. Christoe; of Mackay, and Mrs. McBride, of Nambour, will leave from St. Paul's, Presbyterian Church, Macalister St., this day at 4 p.m. for the Mackay Cemetery. Service commences at 3.50p.m.

Death of Mr. J. K. Madill
Mr. John Kaven Madill, who died in
Mackay on Tuesday at
the age of 74, was one
of the ambulance
brigade's first bearers.
Mr. Madill and his brother
Wallace joined the ambu-
lance in 1903, shortly after
it had been formed.
Many of his ambulance
duties were performed in
the bush, and patients were
brought to town from out-
lying districts by horse and
cart and by foot.
Mr. Madill was born in
Mackay. He joined the
Railway Department in
1902. He was station master
at Finch Hatton in 1906 and
at Netherdale in 1914. After
conducting a store at Gar-
gett he entered the hotel
business in Sydney.
In 1930 he carried on to-
bacco farming at Mareeba,
and also conducted a hotel
there. He left Mareeba in
1937 and lived in retirement
in the Mackay district until
his death.
He is survived by a
daughter. Mrs. J. McNae,
two sisters. Mrs. R. Christoe
and Mrs. McBride of Nam-
bour, and a brother, Wal-
lace, of Duncan-street.
