OBITUARY. A well-known ex-citizen, Mr Roger Bocking Hamerton passed- away on Saturday at the advanced, age of 75 years: The deceased, who was born at Yarmouth; is survived by a widow: He was a member of the Old China Contingent, and is a retired employe of the Harbour Trust. The funeral took place on Monday from his residence, Coventry street,, South Melbourne.. Six old colleagues of the China Contingent carried the coffin (which was draped with the Union Jack) from the hearse to the grave side. About 40 members of the Old China Contingent and the Ex-Naval Members' Association marched in front of the hearse at the Fawkner, cemetery. The pall was supported by Mr M. Pope (president of China Con tingent), Mr A. Currie (secretary), ex-Commander Paymaster Pearce (secretary -Ex-Naval Men's Association), W. Seabrook (president), and Messrs W. Bryan, F. King, T. Woods, W. .Cole, .W. Stephen and others. Mr J. Clark was standard-bearer, and Mr T. Whitford sounded the -Last Post. There was a large collection of floral tributes. Nelson Bros. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
