Freeman — Howe A very pretty wedding took place at St. Malachi's R.C. Church, Ryl- stone, on March 13, the Very Rev. Father Kenefick officiating. The bride was Miss Alice Howe, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howe, of Rylstone, and the bride- groom Pte. John W. Freeman, A.I.F. Inf. (returned), fourth son of Mr. M. Freeman and the late Mrs. Freeman, of Crow's Nest, Syd- ney. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a pretty blue frock with silver bead trimming, with a white hat. She carried a posy of white carnations and frangi- panni; also an ivory bound prayer book. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Frappell, niece of the bride, wore a pretty grey frock and hat to match. She carried a posy of pale pink carnations, and wore a gold pend- ant, gift of the bridegroom. The best man was Cpl. Hubert Hanly, A.LF. (returned), cousin of the bride. The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where quite a number of guests were present, also many visitors from Sydney, including Hon. W. F. Dunn, M.L.A, a very old friend of the family. The guests were re- ceived by the bride's mother. Both bridegroom and best man are mem- bers of the 9th Division. Carmen Gilchrist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gilchrist, of Dangar Street, is at present spend- ing leave with her parents. Car- men is in the Land Army and, al- though still in her teens, has made splendid progress since her entry into her new sphere. |
