Three Year's Futile Search For Woman BRISBANE, December 17.
To obtain her signature to a legal document, the police all over Australia have been vainly searching for three years for Mrs. Ruby Walditch Gerahty.
43, last heard of as a stewardess. Pending the receipt of her signature, the income, from a legacy bequeathed to her from the £10,000 estate of her father, the late Simeon F. Lord, grazier, which up to now has been used to sup port her two children in Brisbane, has been held up. Unless she is found, legal steps to presume her death will have to be taken before the administra tion of the estate can release further money. Although her description has-been circulated to every police station in Australia, and enquiries have been made in New Zealand and America, no trace has been found of Mrs. Gerahty, who was last heard of six years ago. (NOTE Ruby is now Ruby Walditch GERAHTY)

Cairns Post 18 Dec 1935
SEARCH FOR WOMAN. ANOTHER ATTEMPT. LEGACY HELD UP.
BRISBANE, December 17.
Despite a vain search for three years all over Australia, the Queens- land police have been asked once again to endeavor to locate Mrs. Ruby Waldith Gerahty (43). Until her signature to a legal document is obtained, the income from a legacy bequeathed her from the ¿10,000 estate of her father, the late Simeon F. Lord, grazier, which, up to the present, has been used for the support of her two children in Bris- bane, has been held up. Unless she is located legal steps to presume her death will have to be taken before the administrators of the estate can release further moneys.

DISAPPEARED.
lt is over six years since Mrs: Gerahty disappeared. She was then living in Essex-street, Epping, New South Wales, with her husband (John Gerahty) and her two children by a previous marriage to a man named Webster. Late in 1929 she handed over the children to the care of her mother (Mrs. Lord) in Brisbane since when nothing has been heard of her. At the time Mrs. Gerahty was receiving a comfortable income from a legacy under the will of her late father, Simeon Fitzherbert Lord, owner of Eskdale Station in the Bris- bane Valley, who died in July, 1916, leaving an estate valued for probate at nearly 10,000 (pounds).

STEWARDESS ON LINER.
Mrs. Gerahty made ample provision for the support of her children by signing over her entire interest in the estate to her mother. The police were shortly afterwards' engaged in an extensive search for her but without result. Her family heard that she had secured a position as stewardess on the Matson line, operating between Sydney and San Francisco, but the company's books did not disclose any employee of that name, though she may have signed on under an assumed name.

The first difficulty arose three years ago when Mrs. Lord died. The care of the children was taken over by Mrs. Gerahty's sister. Miss Evelyn Lord, of Kedron, Brisbane, and have remained with her ever since. The formal transfer of the benefits under thc legacy to Miss Lord, was required by the administrators of the estate, the Union Trustee Co., and the search for the missing mother was promptly renewed.
A LEGAL HITCH.
Though her description was circulated to every police station in Aus- tralia and inquiries made in New Zealand and America no trace of her has been found. The administrators have continued payments under the legacy on behalf of the children who are now both approaching their majority, but recently a hitch occurred and until the long-sought signature of Mrs.Gerahty is obtained the money will | be tied up unless legal action to presume her death is successful
