OBITUARY
The death occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. G. Heath, Byron-street, early yesterday morning, of Mrs. Jane Curran (relict of the late. Mr. James Cur ran, of Mirani). The deceased lady was a well known identity in the district having resided here for the past twenty-six years, eighteen of which were spent in Mirani, where she leaves behind a host of friends.
Mrs. Curran, at the time of her death, was 59 years of age, and her husband predeceased her some eighteen years ago. Death was due to Bright's disease. The funeral took place in the afternoon, the Rev. A. Dunn performing the last sad rites at the graveside. A grown-up family of two sons and three daughters are left to mourn their sad loss. One son and one daughter (Mrs. Heath) are married, and all of them reside in the district.

The death occurred at a private hospital in Mackay on Saturday morning of Mr. William Curran, who was brought down from Finch Hatton a few days ago suffering from what was believed to be the effects of a drug... The deceased, who was a man, of about 40 years of age, leaves a widow(nee Miss Marry Gorman) and a family of three small children to mourn their loss. A post mortem was subsequently, held on the body, the immediate cause of death was given as pneumonia. The Rev. -Father O'Keeffe officiated at the graveside.
