Personal Notes:

baptism record of son William Marshall (her husband) had bequeathed the Crich Manor House below Edge Moor - the "Pot House" - to Grandmother Mary. When this was put up for sale on October 16 1866 Denman Mason was given authority, as her agent, to receive the monies from the sale. Denman Mason - grandson - diaries - 10 Jan 1868 Went to Church Broughton to see old Joshua Smith and receive tithe due to my Grandmother Mary Marshall. Recd, the money £32-2-6 and returned home on Saturday night about 8 o'clock after a very cold drive of nearly 30 miles through deep snow
