The death occurred at the General Hospital yesterday morning of Mr. William Dowzer, a very old and highly, esteemed resident of North Bundaberg. The deceased gentleman, who was with- in a month of attaining his 60th birth- day, was a member of a well-known Tiaro family, and came to Bundaberg about 30 years ago, when he opened the Mulgrave Hotel. For the past 20 years he was employed at the Bunda- berg Foundry as chief engine driver. Some two or three weeks ago he met with an accident whilst starting one of the engines in the truck shop, ne- cessitating his removal to the hospital where, despite all that was done for him he passed away as stated. He was a valued employee of the Foundry, one in whom the management had ther ut- most confidence. He was likewise ex- tremely popular with his fellow em- ployees and citizens of the town and dis- trict who will learn with the utmost, regret of his demise, and much sym- pathy will bo extended to his wife and family of eight, most of whom are growp up. The funeral is adver- tised to take place at 3 o'clock-this afternoon for interment in tbe General Cemetery.
