MRS. JANE RAMAGE.
The oldest member of the Methodist Church
in the Box-Hill and Ringwood circuit triumphed
over, death and calmly fell asleep in Jesus
on Wednesday, October. 13th, at the ripe old
age of 95 years. Mrs. J. Ramage was born
at Cranston, Linlithco,, Scotland, in the year
1820. She was married in 1845, and arrived in
Victoria in 1854. After a few years. residence
at Heidelberg, Prahran, and Mulgrave, she
settled at Bayswater in 1870 where she remained
until her death. In her early days she was
connected with the Presbyterian Church, but
finally joined the Methodist Church and con-
tinued a faithful and consistent member of
the same unto the end. Her place was seldom
vacant in the House of the Lord while health
permitted her attendance. She had a bright
Christian experience. Her delight was in
conversing of the Spiritual, the Eternal, and
the Divine. She was ready to give a reason
for the hope that was in her. Never ashamed
to own her Lord. Death had no terrors for
her. She longed to go and be forever with the
Lord. Of her family of five daughters and one
son, only three survive her.
