INQUEST
A FATAL FALL
Dr. Youl, the city coroner, held an inquest at the Melbourne Hospital yesterday , on the body of a man , named George Robert Pawsey a resident of Brunswick, who was admitted to the Melbourne Hospital at mid- night on Saturday, and died at 1 am. on the 21st inst. The deceased, who was a. carpenter by trade, was 64 yrs of age , and had a family of eight children. On Saturday night he was seen by two young men, named Joseph Whitman and Charles Andesdon, at the corner of Albert' street, Brunswick, and he was in their opinion under the influence of liquor. He walked round a corner, and hearing him cry out they went to his assistance and found him lying in the water channel bleeding from a wound on the back of his head. There was some blood on the Kerbstone. 'They lifted him out and found a constable who conveyed him to the hospital. There was no person near him when they found him.. Dr. Howard, resident surgeon of the hospital, deposed that death was due to fracture of the skull and a verdict was re- turned that death resulted from a fracture of.
the skull caused by an accidental fall in the street.
