Death of Mr. William Hodgins, Cloughjordan
On Friday last there passed away a member of one of the oldest and most respected families in the person of Mr. William Hodgins, at his residence. Lower Main Street, Cloughjordan. He had reached the advanced age of 87 years, and had the honour of seeing most of his grandchildren grown to young men and women, and able to take their place at their respective callings. He is survived by his widow, to whom we lender our deepest sympathy, and to a large circle of friends who have manifested their sense of loss by assembling to pay their last tribute to the memory of this grand old man, who passed away full of years and honour. The funeral to Ballymackey on Sunday evening was of large dimensions, and the obsequies were performed by the Venerable Archdeacon of Killaloe. assisted by Rev. F.R. McCullagh, B.A.. both of whom spoke in feeting terms of the Christian qualities of the deceased.
