The son of Johan Justus and Anna Barbara nee Wegert Schafer, he married Barbarea nee Frey on 29 Jul 1829 in Leimen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. They had 7 (seven), children, Leonhard, Jakob, (1829-1831), Jacob, Barbara, Frederick John, Urbanas Frederick, and Johanna.
Barbara died on 21 Nov 1844 in Germany. He married Louisa Franziska nee Lieb on 22 Jun 1845 in Leimen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany In 1853 his eldest son, Leonhard emigrated to the colony with his wife Catharina Margaretha nee Flick and son George. They arrived in Port Jackson on 3 May 1853 on the ship "Triton" In 1854, Abraham, a vinedresser, and Louisa emigrated to the colony as assisted immigrants, with his children, Barbara, Frederick John, Urbanas Frederick, and Johanna. The family arrived in Two Fold Bay on 27 Mar 1855 on the ship "Caesar". Burial 22 Feb 1861 |
