Surprise Wedding of CWA State Secretary

THE Wedding of the State honorary secretary of the County Women's Association (Mrs Phyllis Mack) last Saturday, to Professor Charles J Tilden, was a complete surprise to members of the CWA, State Executive, who met on Monday, to commence a week of meetings.

Mrs Tilden, better known to members of the CWA as Mrs George Mack, was present at the meeting and was inundated with congratulations. The marriage was quietly celebrated at All Saints Church Woollarah, and was followed by a buffet reception held at the residence of Mrs Tilden's daughter Mrs Holt, wife of Dr Gerald Holt, of Rose Bay. Mrs Tilden's other daughter, Mrs Charmain Munro and her seven grandchildren were also present at the ceremony.

Professor Tilden, who was professor of mechanical engineering of Yale University (USA) was formerly married to the late Mrs Linda Littlejohn, who s daughter Barbara (Mrs Cullen) of Bringelly, is also a state vice-president of the CWA.

Professor and Mrs Tilden expect to divide their time between the United States and Australia, their interests lying in both countries.
