BILLAM-BELL. Of Interest to Charters Towers and Townsville folk was the pretty after noon wedding held at St Paul's Church of England Charters Towers, on August 26. when Dulcie Honoria eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bell Charters Towers, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Thomas, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Billam, Cook-street, North Ward, Townsville. Miss Tuffley pre sided at the organ, and Miss R. Lewis sang during the signing of the regis ter. The Rev. Canon Dale officiated at the ceremony. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her away. She looked dainty in her simple gown of stiffened lace over white satin, her tulle veil held in place with two arum lilies veiled in tulle and tied with white satin rib bon. Miss Marjorie Bell, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, wore cycla men pink georgette, trimmed with silver lame over taffeta, and a lame Juliette cap, finished with a shoulder length pink tulle veil. She carried a posy of pink sweet peas and maiden hair fern tied with pink tulle. The duties of groomsman were carried out by Mr. Frank Stanger. The reception was held at the residence of the bride'e mother, who wore a smart frock of teal green romaine relieved with London tan and accessories to tone. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs. Bell was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore a smart ensemble in magpie tonings, with edge to edge black coat and black accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Bil lam left for their home in Townsville, the bride's travelling frock being of melody pink avanti, with small cap to tone, and black accessories. |
