Thomas Valentine Blomfield was born on the 14th February 1793 (Headstone at St Mary the Virgin near Denham Court Ingleburn outside Sydney NSW Australia). He was born at Dagworth in Suffolk England and his parents were Captain Thomas Blomfield and Mary Manning (nee Seaman).
Thomas Valentine Blomfield served with the 48th Regiment of Foot (Northhamptonshire).
He entered as an ensign on 8 June 1809 and was promoted to Lieutenant on 17th June 1811. He served in the Peninsular War and was awarded the Military General Service Medal with eight clasps. (Mowle, P.C 'A Genealogical History of Pioneer Families of Australia').
According to the 1828 Census he came free to Australia on a ship called "The Dick" in 1817 and on the 3rd August 1820 was married to Christiana Jane, eldest daughter of Richard Brooks.
Christiana Jane and Thomas Valentine Blomfield had twelve children and they lived at 'Dagworth' on the Hunter River in NSW then later moved to Denham Court near Ingleburn in NSW. Thomas Valentine also obtained a run of 35000 acres called Collamatong (Coollamatong) on the Monaro Tablelands of NSW in 1848. His son Arthur held this in 1853.
Thomas Valentine Blomfield died on the 14th May 1857 at the age of 64 and his wife Christiana Jane Blomfield died on the 31st October 1852 at the age of 50. They are buried in the small churchyard of St Mary the Virgin near Denham Court in Ingleburn NSW Australia.

THOMAS VALENTINE BLOMFIELD is to be ranked as one of the pioneering band whose early settlement and recognition of its possibilities contributed to the development of Manaro. Born at Dagworth, in Suffolk, he was the representative of an old military family, whose traditions he followed by holding a captaincy in the 28th Regiment. He married Christina, the daughter of Captain Richard Brooks, and from his father-inlaw acquired Denham Court, near Liverpool. He was thus a brother-in-law of Richard, that son of Captain Brooks who came to Manaro in 1827. In 1848, when the applicants for leases were gazetted, Thomas Valentine Blomfield sought to obtain Run No. 8, known as Collarnatong, consisting of 35,000 acres and the boundaries whereof, as set out in the Gazette, refer. to neighboring runs as being those of Messrs. Cassels, Brooks, Brierly and Eccleston. Mr. Brooks' run was "Gejizrick." Arthur Blomfield, a son of T. V. Blomfield, was born in 1831 at Dagworth, Maitland, and apparently assumed control at Collamatong in 1853. His sons were Arthur, who held Collamatong, afterwards Coolamatong; Richard, who, during the early sixties, was manager at Coolringdon for Mr. W. Bradley, with three submanagers under him, and who afterwards succeeded to Denham Court; T.V., who entered the Army in India; Edwin, of Salusbury Court, Armidale; Alfred a grazer of Collarenebri, who have all passed away; and Henry, who is still alive in Queensland.
