DENNIS CASEY A very old identily of Adaminaby passed away last Saturday week, in the person of Dennis Casey, aged 74, who has been one of the most familiar and picturesque figures in the towm for many years. He took ill that moming, and was taken by Mr. Clilf Eccleston in his car to see the doctor, who diagnosed the trouble as blood pressure and ordered him to bed. Mr. C. Eccleston and Mr. E. Britt accompanied him to his home, where he lived alone, and put him to bed. Later he developed paralysis, and died the same night. Deceased was born at Gillamatong near Cooma, and had lived in Adaminaby practically all his life. He was married, but some years ago separated from his wife. He is survived by several brothers and sisters, among whom are Mick (Cooma) and William and Mrs C Burgess (of Adaminaby), Mrs. Higgs (Batlow), Mrs. Huggett (Sydney), and two other sisters, Bridget and Maggie. Dennis was laid to rest in the Catholic portion of the Adaminaby Cemetery, and his remains were followed by a large concourse of residents. Everywhere regret was expressed for the passing; of one of the towns best-known inhabitants. |
