Personal Notes:
The Tumut and Adelong Times 15 Oct 1929
ECCLESTON— COTTAM WEDDING At the wedding, the bride was attired in white crepe-de-tbene and silver lace, with wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet lent by her sister, Mrs. W. Jordan. The bridesmaid, Miss Lois Briggs, wore pink georgette with a picture hat, and carried a bouquet of large maidenhair fern and snowflakes and daffodils (given by Mrs . N. L. Quarmby). Mrs. George Cottam (mother of the bride) was attired in blue crepe-de-chirie . The bride left for Tumut in a frock of brown Jersey silk with hat to match. Their future home will be in Batlow, A gift evening was tendered to Miss Edith Muriel Cottam on the Wednesday prior to her marriage with Mr, Frederick John Eccleston. The bride-elect received many useful presents, no two being alike, Mr. Stan Fenn making the presentation, to which Mr. Geo. Cottam responded on behalf of his daughter. The music was supplied by the Batlow Gaiety Orchestra, and Miss Lois Briggs and Mr. Pat Waters carried off the cake in the cake waltz. An enjoyable evening was spent by the dancers, and the ladies contributed a much appreciated supply of eatables.
