" WEDDING BROODBANK-BAILLIE: A very pretty wedding was solemnised with Nuptial Mass at St. Colman's Roman Catholic Church, Cloncurry, when Patricia Joyce, young est daughter of Mr and Mrs. George Baillie, Selwyn Hotel, Cloncurry, was united in the bonds of holy matri mony to Eric Francis, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Broodbank, Pine Street, Greenslopes, Brisbane. Rev. Father Brill officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charm ing in a lovely gown of em bossed nylon, which was daintily pleated with plain nylon. The neatly fitting bodice featured a Peter Pan collar, and was buttoned down the front. The long sleeves were pointed over the wrists, the skirt was fully flared, and the train fell into graceful folds. Her beautiful three - quarter length embroidered veil was held in place by a close fitting cap, trimmed with orange blossoms at the back. She carried an exquisite muff, from which hung a long trail of lovely flowers. The bride had three attend ants. Her sister, Sylvia (Mrs. Jim Callanan), who was matron of honour, chose pas tel blue. Her cousins, Col leen Baillie and Roslyn Ab solin, wore pastel shades of lemon and mauve respec tively. All were frocked alike in broderie Anglaise, featur ing simple bodices, with large bows at the back, puff sleeves and very full skirts. Each wore lovely picture hats to match their frocks, and carried dainty muffs cov ered with tiny flowers. The little flower girl, Irene Bail lie, cousin of the bride, who was frocked in pale pink, was a replica of the brides maids. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. Jim Callanan brother-in-law of the bride, who was assisted by Messrs. Michael McDermott and Malcolm Jennings as grooms men. At the reception, which was held at the Shire Hall, over 300 guests were received by the bride's mother, who was frocked in grey figured silk with match ing accessories. She added a lovely spray of flowers to her corsage. The happy couple left on the mid-day plane to spend their honey moon at Yamba, N.S.W., the bride travelling in a smart navy and white linen suit, with accessories to match.
