Jack, as he was called, was a Constable, Qld. Police from 19 May 1905 to 30 Aug 1906 when he resigned. He was a Miner in Castleton near Forsayth when his children were born. In later years while residing at 289 Draper Street, Cairns, Jack worked for the Cairns Harbour Board. Jack was 5ft 10 1/4 ins tall & had grey eyes. John was also called "Jock" by his family in Wahgunyah.
The VIPOND family wrote several letters to John, & his daughter Doris, made a trip to Wahgunyah to visit "Maryvale" & also Lucy Heley in Geelong,about 1961. |
