Margaret was a convict who was transported to Australia aboard the ship "Woodman" which arrived at Port Jackson on 25 June 1823. She had been tried and convicted of "being in possessession of stolen garments" and sentenced to 7 years transportation.
Following her arrival in the colony, Margaret was assigned to William Cox at Clarendon near Windsor. She was granted her Certificate of Freedom on the 31st August 1829, the same day as William Barry.
