DROPPED DEAD WHILST AT WORK
WELL-KNOWN WEATHERBOARD
FARMER.
LEARMONTH Thursday.
Mr Bernard Curran, a well-known
farmer of Weatherboard, died sudden
ly yesterday afternoon. He was walk
ing behind a drill, which his son, Mr
John Curran, was driving, when he
collapsed and died immediately. Death
was supposed to be due to heart fail
ure. The deceased was a very old re
sident of the district, and was highly
respected. He was a prominent mem
ber of the Roman Catholic Church.
He leaves two sons and two daughters.
A third daughter, Mrs Connelly, died
some time ago.

Mr Curran was 71 years of age, and
was a colonist of over 50 years. He
was farming at Yendon for some
years and was married in Ballarat in
1865. He had been a resident of
Weatherboard for about 20 years, and
was esteemed for his unassuming dis
position and his upright principles.
