ENGAGEMENTS. The engagement is announced of Elisabeth Hamilton (Betty), youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Falkiner, of Roslyn-avenue, Roseville, to Errol, only son of Dr. and Mrs. R. W. H. Maffey, of Singleton. The Sydney Morning Herald 23 Aug 1930 WEDDINGS. MAFFEY-FALKINER. At the Lindfield Methodist Church on August 12, the wedding was celebrated of Miss Elisabeth Hamilton Falkiner, youngest daughter of the late John Falkiner, of Singleton, and Mrs Falkiner, of Roslyn-avenue, Roseville, to Dr Reginald Errol Maffey, only son of Dr and Mrs R W H Maffey, of Singleton. The Rev F W Hynes, assisted by the Rev F T Perkins and the Rev C P Walken Brown, performed the ceremony The bride was given away by Mr Kingston Warburton and wore a gown of ivory georgette with a long veil of tulle forming a train She carried a sheaf of pink and white carnations and hyacinths The bridesmaids were the Misses J Rourke (Maitland) and M Naish Smith (Wagga) They wore camellia pink chiffon gowns, with tiered skirts and capes, and their hats were of blue velvet, edged with tulle They carried sheaves of pink carnations and forget-me-not.. Mr F. Orr-Crago was the best man, and Dr Keith Armstrong the groomsman. The reception was held in the foyer of the Lindfield theatre, where the bride's mother, wearing a black lace frock covered with a black and gold lame coat, received the guests She carried a posy of pink carnations The bridegroom's mother wore midnight blue georgette and a coat of tinsel georgette, with collar and cuffs of white fox She carried a bouquet of red carnations The bride left the reception wearing a frock of ashes-of-roses chiffon, covered with a marmot coat. Sydney Morning Herald 29 Sept 1933 SINGLETON-Additions costing £800 have been made to the Methodist Sunday School hall. Bequests of £200 each to the fund were made by the late Mrs M A Stevenson and Mr John Falkiner The opening of the new hall was performed by Mrs Errol Maffey, a daughter of the late Mr Falkiner |
