Note 7: Reg No 1925/4580 - Glen Innes - father Owen, mother not stated Morning Bulletin (Rockhampton) 17 Aug 1925 A well known and highly esteemed resident of the Northern portion of New South Wales, Mr. Henry Cleave Vincent, died in the Glen Innes Hospital on the 7th instant. He was born in New Zealand in 1847, but, came to Australia when a boy. He established the "Glen Innes Examiner" in 1874. His wife predeceased him last year, but he is survived by five sons and two daughters. The Brisbane Courier 11 Aug 1925 ''OBITUARY.'' Henry Cleave Vincent, one of the best known figures in Northern New South WAles, died in the Glen Innes Hospital during the week-end. He was admitted to the institution on Thursday, and under went an operation,which was apparently very successful. His demise, therefore, came as a great shock to the community. The late Mr Vincent was born in Wellington New Zealand, in 1847, and came to New South Wales as a boy. He took up journalism in various Northern towns- eventually establishing the "Glen Innes Examiner" in 1874. Deceased was a pioneer in many local movements, his fight for a rail connection with Inverell,extending over half a century, being a classical example of his persistence and energy. His late wife died early this year, and he is survived by two daughters - Mrs. A W Kershaw, Cronulla, and Miss C L Vincent, Glen Innes. The surviving sons are W E Vincent, Young, H V Vincent Beenleigh Queensland, Astley Glen Innes, and Cecil and Stuart, Sydney (is H V Vincent, Beenleigh really H C Vincent???)
