He was admitted to the institution on Thursday, and under went an operation, which was apparently very successful. His demise, therefore, came as a great shock to the community. The late Mr Vincent was born in Wellington New Zealand, in 1847, and came to New South Wales as a boy. He took up journalism in various Northern towns- eventually establishing the "Glen Innes Examiner" in 1874. Deceased was a pioneer in many local movements, his fight for a rail connection with Inverell, extending over half a century, being a classical example of his persistence and energy. His late wife died early this year, and he is survived by two daughters - Mrs. A W Kershaw, Cronulla, and Miss C L Vincent, Glen Innes. The surviving sons are W E Vincent, Young, H V
Vincent Beenleigh Queensland, Astley Glen Innes, and Cecil and Stuart, Sydney
