The news of the death at Golden
Gate on Monday evening last of Mr
James Whybrow (says the Croydon "Mining News") came as a surprise to
his Croydon friends, as although it was known he was not in good health still
he was not thought to be seriously ill.
He was only ill three days suffering from an attack of pneumonia.

James Whybrow, aged 74 years, died, at

SAPPER GEORGE ROBERTS.
Mr. and Mrs. George Roberts, Mason-
street, Mareeba, have been advised of
the death of their son, QX15210, Sap-
per Geo. Roberts, who was a member
of the 2/11 Field Coy. Royal Austra-
lian Engineers, Gull Force. Sapper
Roberts was killed in action on Janu-
29, 1942, while attempting to blow
up a bridge at Ambon. Beside his
family and relatives he leaves a large
circle of friends to mourn his sad
passing.
