MR. FREDERICK HATTE
A sturdy pioneer of the Central
Western Queensland in the person of
Mr. Frederick Hatte of "Ballygar"
Aramac, passed away at St. Martin's
Hospital, Brisbane, on Wednesday
evening, the 26th June.
The Late Mr. Hatte who was in
his 76th year, until quite recently
states "Dalgety's Review,'? had
never known a day's illness.
However, owing to an internal coni
plaint which necessitated an oper
ation, he travelled to Brisbane by
aeroplane on the 16th June, and
entered St. Martin's Hospital, but in
spite of the best medical skill and
nursing attention he was unable to
survive the ordeal, and peacefully
passed away, as already mentioned.
Deceased was born in Ballygar,
Ireland, and came to Australia 56
years ago. He opened a business in
Muttaburra which he conducted for
many years. He was attracted by the
pastoral industry, and eventually
drew a portion of :Aramac Station,
which was thrown open for selection.
and from then on devoted his time
to wool-growing in which he was
very successful. Subsequently he ac
quired adjoining properties which en
abled him to develop "Ballygar" into
one of the best properties in the dis
trict.
He was. for a time. a. member of
the Aramac Shire Council, but his
interests were mainly trapped up in
his preperty and his home.
He is survived by a widow and
four sons, Fred, William, Stephen and
Kenneth, who are residents of Cen
tral Queensland, also four daughters,
Mrs. Lindross (Sydney). Mrs. Fulla
gar (Sydney), Mrs. Graham (Tijuana,
Muttaburra) and Miss Merle Hatte, of
"Ballygar". "A sister of the deceased,
Mrs. Goggins, resides at Cambridge,
antland.
The funeral took place in Brisbane
on Thursday, the 27 th instant, to the
Brisbane Crematorium, where a short
service was conducted by Reverend J.
M. Teal.

Wedding
HATTE-FLAHERTY
The Rev. Father T. Collins, of
Barcaldine, officiated at the wedding
of Elizabeth (Pat), only daughter
of the late Mr. Flaherty and . Mrs.
Flaherty, of Rockhampton, to Wil
liam, second son of the late Mr. F.
Hatte, and Mrs. Hatte, Ballygar, Ara
mac, which was celebrated at St.
Joseph's Cathedral on Monday.
The bride who was given away by
her eldest brother (Mr. James Flah
erty), wore her travelling dress (a
heavenly blue la rich model frock).
The bodice featured half Inch tuck
ing on a crossover effect and a fitt
ing skirt. She wore a blue felt hat to
tone and to her frock she pinned a
shoulder spray of lilies of the valley
and snowdrops. She carried a: sheaf
of cream roses.
The bridesmaid, Miss Merle Hatte,
wore a navy frock trimmed with
white Swiss embroidery and a navy
hat, and she carried a bouquet of red
roses. The bouquets were made by
-Mrs. .1. .1. Flaherty. Mr. Roger
Flaherty, the bridegroom's brother,
was best man.
The bride's mother chose a navy
Avanti frock, which featured knife
pleating on the bodice and skirt.
After the ceremony morning tea
was served at the Leichhardt Hotel.
The honeymoon will be spent on a
northern tour.
