The cere- mony was performed in the drawing-room, which had been decorated with white flowers and greenery, a pretty effect being obtained by the erection of three arches. Note 4: Jos Pym Goode in the Australia, Death Index, 1787-1985 Name: Jos Pym Goode Birth Year: abt 1855 Age: 80 Death Place: Hartwell, Victoria Father's Name: Jos Goode Registration Year: 1935 Registration Place: Victoria Registration Number: 4740 The Age (Melbourne) 17 June 1935 Another link with the early days of the Victorian railways has been severed by the death of Mr. Joseph Pym Goode, George-street, Hartwell, which occurred on Friday. Mr. Goode, who was 81 years old, joined the railway service 64 years ago, starting as a telegraph oper ator at Spencer-street station, and was one of the first telegraph operators em ployed there. He became a station master about 1880, his first charge being Bealiba. In turn he was station mas ter at Werrlbee, Numurkah, Oakleigh, Serviceton, Warrnambool, Dimboola, Warragul, Kyneton and Castlemaine. He was well known throughout the State by the general travelling public. Mr. Goode retired from the railways when 59 years of age, and, though he lived to the fine old age of 81, the reason for his retirement twenty odd years ago was ill health. Mr. Pym Goode, senior officer in the office of the General Superintendent of Transportation of the Railway department, is a son. The late Mr. Goode's father was, in the early days, Deputy Registrar-General of Victoria. The remains were cremated at the Fawkner Crematorium on Saturday; there being a representative gathering, including many Masonic brethren and representatives of the Railway department. GOODE.— On the 14th June, at 9 George- street, Hartwell, Joseph Pym Goode, for merly station master, Victorian Railways, beloved husband of Annie, father of Pym, Hugh, Hampden, Ida (Mrs, Peters), Mabel (Mrs. Williams) and Doris, In his 81st year.
