Son of Frederick and Elizabeth Married Sarah Feint nee Eggleton in 1910 at Tumut with one child Herbert born of this union. Feint is spelt Faint and Jeffrey spelt Jeffery on marriage cert The Tumut and Adelong Times (NSW : 1864 - 1867; 1899 - 1950) Tue 27 Jan 1948 MR. WALTER HERBERT JEFFREY As briefly mentioned in our last issue the death occurred in the Tumut District Hospital on Tuesday night last of Mr. Walter Herbert (Chip) Jeffery, of Tumut, at the age of 66 years. The late Mr. Jeffery who was well known drover and had resided in Tumut all his life was working at the Tumut Brickyards on Tuesday and was about to have his lunch when he suddenly collapsed. After being taken to the doctor he was admitted to the district hospital where he passed away that night from cerebral haemorrage. Deseased was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs. Fred. Jeffrey, of Tumut, where he was born. He was well known far beyond Tumut for his droving capabilities and was held in high regard by his associates. He married Mrs. Sarah Feint (nee Eggleton), widow of the late Mr. George Feint, of Tumut. Mrs. Jeffrey predeceased her husband as did their only son Gordon. Brothers and sisters surviving are Frederick (Tumut), John (Batlow), Charles (Batlow), Nellie (Mrs. Flakelar, Adelong), Ethel (Mrs. P. Wilson, Leeton), Edie (Mrs. E. Carr, Tumut), Ruby (Mrs. J. Johnson, Junee). Two sisters Rebecca and Ruth predeceased him. Another sister Aggie (Mrs. P. Murphy, Adelong), also passed away in the Tumut District Hospital on Thursday night last. The funeral took place on Thursday morning last leaving the District Hospital at 10 o'clock for the Presbyterian portion of the Tumut Old Cemetery where internment took place. Rev. R. Woodger officiated at the graveside and Messrs. W. W. Beavan and Son had charge of the mortuary arrangements. The pall-bearers were Messrs. W. King, R. Ibbotson, N. Murphy, C.Jeffrey, A.
