Death of an old District Resident Mr. John Joseph Freebody passed away at Belvidere, Cooma, on Friday last, after an illness of a fortnight, at the advanced age of 84 years. The interment took place at the Moonbah cemetery on Saturday last, in the presence of a large number of relatives and district residents, the service being conducted by the Very Rev. Dean Norris. The pall bearers were Messrs Harry Bluett, Joe Pendergast, Cecil Morrissey and D. Morrissey. The deceased was the third son of the late John Freebody, of Arable, and was a native of Campbelltown. He came to Middlingbank at an early age with his parents, where he resided till his marriage with Miss Margaret Mary McEvoy; he then removed to Arable, and the last twelve years of his life were spent at Cooma. His wife predeceased him by 15 years and his survivors are a sister, Mary of Tuross; sons, Messrs Peter Freebody, of Queanbeyan, and, John Freebody, of Pine Valley; and daughters, Mrs. John Turner, of Queanbeyan, and Mrs Daniel Morrissey, of Bega, the Misses Mary, Margaret, and Mabel Freebody, of Cooma. He also leaves 24 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Wreaths were from Mrs. Burns of Eastwood.; Mrs. M. Lloyd and family; Jean and Peter; All at Belvidere; Ned, Martha Turner and family; Mr and Mrs George Hain and family; Annie; Dan, and family; Maggie, Nellie, Mary and Girlie; Sarah, John, and family ; and Mrs. N. Ryan.
