A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated with a Nuptial Mass on 21st July at the R.C. Church, Tumut, by the Rev. Fr. Sharkey, when Miss. Irene Kate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Glynn, Batlow, was married to Mr. Daniel Kevin McKey, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. McKey, Blowering. The bride looked sweet in a pretty frock of white crepe-de-chene, with veil of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white roses and daffodils with white streamers. Mr. Pat Glynn filled the role of best man, and Miss Edith Glynn was bridesmaid, looking charming in a dress of white lace, with pink trimmings, hat to match, and carrying a posy of pink roses and daffodils tied with pink ribbon. After the ceremony the happy couple left by car for Goulburn and Leeton, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelling in a navy coat and skirt, and black aeroplane hat. Prior to her marriage, the bride was entertained by her friends at a 'gift' evening in the Batlow Hall, where many valuable and useful presents were received.
