OBITUARY. We briefly referred, in our last issue, to the death of Mrs. Vyner, widow of the late Mr. F. W. Vyner, who for many years acted as Police Magistrate for these districts, and whose death took place 17 years ago. The respected lady was in her 89th year, and never at any time suffered from any serious illness. She, with members of her family, left here 12 years ago, and took up their residence at Double Bay. On Saturday last the aged lady accidentally fell down whilst walking about in her bedroom, fracturing her thigh-bone in the fall. Her daughter, hearing the noise, quickly entered the room, only to find her mother in the paroxysms of death, which took place before medical aid could arrive. Deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. Jas. Robinson, of Coppalabella Station, and sister to Mr. Jas. Robinson, of Kimo. She lived a most perfect life, and was highly esteemed by old acquaintances. In accordance with an often expressed wish, her remains were brought to Tumut for interment — she always called Tumut her home, and emphasised the wish that when death came she desired to be taken to that home, where her husband's remains were, for burial. The coffin— a very heavy one, the corpse being sealed in a leaden enclosure, which was placed in a casket and again enclosed in a polished oak coffin— was brought to Tumut by train on Wednesday last, and was placed in the same grave as that of the husband. A number of friends attended the funeral, arrangements for which were carried out by Mr. Elphick, and Rev. Ross-Edwards read the Anglican burial service. Some magnificent wreaths, from Sydney, were placed on the coffin. The members of the family are nine daughters and three sons, with whom we sincerely sympathise over their bereavement.
