BIRTH.
MATTHEWS (nee Hegney).-On 6th
September, 1914, at Mildura, the
wife of Constable D. B. Matthews;
a son (Bain Wilson). Both well.

OBITUARY
MATIHEWS.-After a short illness Mrs Eva Catherine Matthews passed away on Saturday last in the Williamstown Hospital. Deceased, a native of Coppa Cara Station, N.S.W.. was 57 years of age and the wife of Donald Bain Matthews, sergeant of the Williamstown police station, and leaves two sons besides her husband to mourn their loss. The funeral took place on Monday from Ernest W. Jackson's chapel for the Williamstown Cemetery. The large number of friends who attended and the many beautiful floral tributes received testified to the esteem in which the deceased and her family are held in this district. The Rev. R. E. McQuie (Anglican) officiated at the chapel and cemetery. Ernest W. Jackson had charge of the funeral arrangements.
