A pretty wedding took place on Thursday last at St. Thomas's Church, North Sydney, when Dr. Hinder, of Ashfield, was married to Miss Ethel Pockley, daughter of Captain Pockley, of Lorne, Gordon. The church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride, an arch of white flowers having been erected. The Rev. Stephen Childe officiated. The bride was dressed in ivory bengaline silk, with a long train. On her head she wore a small wreath of white flowers, fastened with a jewelled crescent and covered with a long tulle veil. She was followed by seven small bridesmaids, her three sisters, the Misses Muriel, Enid, and Marjorie Pockley, her niece Miss Phyllis Pockley, and the bridegroom's nieces, the Misses Ethel, Sylvia, and Adeline Jones. They were dressed alike in costumes oE cream-colored crepon, made with large puffed sleeves, finished with soft sashes, and large picture hats of the same color. The wedding breakfast took place at Gordon, a special train conveying the large number- of guests thither. Among those present were Dy. and Mrs. P. Antill Pockley, Dr. and Mrs. WaTd and Miss Warclj Mrs. and the Misses Hook, Mrs. and Miss McFarland, Mr. John Antill, Mr. H. Antill. Mrs. Pockley, the bride's mother, was dressed in brown corded eilk, with bonnet to match. Miss Mabel Pockley wore a dress of sprigged muslin, trimmed with orange-brown velvet, her flat nat being trimmed with chiffon and velvet to match that on her dress. Miss Florence Pockley wore a floral muslin, trimmed with bands of dark-green velvet to correspond with the pattern of her dress, her hat being composed of white feathers. Dr. and Mrs. Hinder left Sydney in the afternoon for Melbourne, whence they propose going over to Tasmania.

AN IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL.

Dr. H. Critchley Hinder, who died at his residence, Summer Hill, on Sunday, was buried at St. John's Cemetery, Gordon, yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large number of mourners.

The medical profession predominated, most of the well-known physicians and surgeons of Sydney being present to pay their last tribute to a surgeon who, though only 48 years of age, had long been in the front rank of his profession. Unusually large numbers of wreaths were sent by friends and relations and by representatives of the various institutions with which the deceased was connected.

The cortege left deceased's late residence, Carleton, Liverpool-road, Summer Hill, at 2 o'clock, arriving at Gordon at half-past 4. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. F. W. Reeve, of St. Luke's, Mosman, a brother-in-law of deceased, assisted by the Rev. R. R. King, of Gordon.

The chief mourners were Dr. W. S. Hinder and Mr. R. J. Hinder (brothers), Mr. Brian Pockley and Mr. Basil Jones (nephews). Dr. Antill Pockley and Dr. Eric Pock- ley (brothers-in-law). Representing the University senate were Dr. Cecil Pur- ser, Professor Anderson Stuart, and Mr. H. E. Barff (Registrar). Representing the council of the British Medical Association were Dr. Sydney Jamieson (president), Dr. Crago, Dr. Clarence Read, Dr. Lipscombe, and Dr. J. A. Dick.
