Maryborough Chronicle, Wide Bay and Burnett Advertiser 23 Sept 1876
An old resident of the name
of James Glennie, of Thornhill, has de-
parted at the ripe age of 77. He had
lived in the colony 53 years, and was al-
ways willing to assist in promoting the
welfare of his fellow colonists. As he
was returning from the Church of Eng-
land synod he was taken ill, and was
unable to return to his station. He was
brother to Archdeacon Glennie, and for
his age was a surprisingly strong man,
and his death was quite unexpected.

The Brisbane Courier 4 Nov 1867
