Maryborough Chronicle, Wide Bay and Burnett Advertiser 23 Sept 1876
An old resident of the name
of James Glennie, of Thornhill, has de-
parted at the ripe age of 77. He had
lived in the colony 53 years, and was al-
ways willing to assist in promoting the
welfare of his fellow colonists. As he
was returning from the Church of Eng-
land synod he was taken ill, and was
unable to return to his station. He was
brother to Archdeacon Glennie, and for
his age was a surprisingly strong man,
and his death was quite unexpected.

The Brisbane Courier 4 Nov 1867
In the Supreme Court of Queensland.

In the WILL of JAMES GLENNIE, late of
Thornhill, near Gladstone, in the Colony of
Queensland, Gentleman, Deceased.
NOTICE is hereby given that, after the ex-
piration of fourteen days from the date of
the publication hereof, application will be made to
this Honorable Court that PROBATE of the Wl LL
of the above-named James Glennie, deceased,
may be granted to SUSAN GLENNIE, of
Thornhill, near Gladstone, aforesaid, the sole
Executrix named in the said Will.
Note 2: Newcastle Morning Herald and Miners’ Advocate 18 Aug 1880
Death of Dr. Glennie, J.P.
Dr. HENRY GLENNIE, J.P., one of the
oldest residents of, Patrick's Plains, died
yesterday morning, at Singleton, at 1
a.m., aged eighty-one. The doctor's
health, despite his advanced age, was
particularly good up to the last, but on
Sunday night he met with an awkward
spill from his buggy whilst attending a
patient; resulting in a severe concussion.
The doctor finally succumbed as stated.
As a mark of respect to his memory
flags were hung half-mast high through-
out the town. The deceased leaves a
numerous family, as well as a widow, to
survive him and to mourn his loss.
