Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933), Friday 4 April 1902, page 5
Our Bowen correspondent, writing on 31st March, says :-Mr. Peter Gordon, one of the pioneers of the district, who arrived here in 1863 along with Mr. Henning, of Exmoor station, died during the week. Mr. Gordon spent some years as a hotelkeeper at Strathmore and Normanby, but for several years back he has been, engaged dairying on Euri Creek. The deceased was of a most retiring disposition, and was not personally, known to many of the townspeople, but his family, who had settled in town for a number of years, are well known and highly respected, and the funeral was largely attended.
